Recently our cable provider suspended our service because the ESA had complained that we downloading copyrighted material without permission from the copyright owner, which was an outrageous lie of course. Naturally we only use eDonkey for legitimate purposes. Having said that though I wish my usage of eDonkey to be anonymous, which at present it is obviously not.
During the course of my research I came across one company that would allow p2p file sharing through their proxy servers but they wanted $40 per month for the privilege. On top of the $65 per month we pay for internet cable alone that would present too much of a financial burden.
Proxy servers that allow anonymous web surfing through HTTP proxies are far more reasonably priced and there are p2p programs out there that can use those proxies. The only problem with that is I like eDonkey. It is just about the best p2p program I've ever used.
My question then is this. Is there a way to use eDonkey through an HTTP proxy? If so then how would one do it?
eDonkey connecting through HTTP proxy...?
