Really?  I had a lot of trouble hearing it.  I had to double the normal volume.  I even tried to play it on 3 different players and checked all of the volume settings.  It was just really low for me.  I normally have my tv volume around 25 but had it upwards of 60 for the original file!

perhaps a configuration about dolby 6 chans vs stereo?

I sometimes had a similar "problem" when playing multi-chan audio on stereo configuration...

just a thought.

but anyways if you get the 5 complete sources for main page I would guess some people would prefer a smaller file.

Just would be nice to specify the tech info of your file: video and audio codec, resolution, etc.

On a side note, Why are most of the files in AVI format?  I love to put them on my iPod Classic for when I'm out and about...  It's a real pain to have to convert them all to MP4 format.  It takes up so much space too.  Is there a quality/resolution reason or is it just standard so people automatically use it?  I usually just rip my dvds to mp4...

not all DVD players hooked on TVs can play mp4 files... avi is still a preferred container for many, many people out there ;)

I understand mp4 is sometimes a more compact format, I guess eventually time will tell if this one will gain general interest :)

I am no expert but I noted mostly Japanese anime were using mp4 format, for their 720p releases (compared to the usual mkv we see for 720p TV series and movies).

You play AVIs on your dvd player?  I don't bother.  I either put them on my ipod and connected to a different tv or I just use my main computer which I have my lcd tv hooked up to as the main monitor...  I don't even have cable any more since most tv is now oinline in one form or another.

well --

I don't have an iPOD nor a game console, and I don't have a TV either...
A computer and its monitor is enough for me to play any types of files...
But, I know for a fact that a lot of people still use standard dvd players to watch movies and tv series, and not everyone can, or will, hook their TV to their computer. If I do get a tv one day, this will probably be my case, computer being too far from its future location ;)
Plus, if they do happen to download a movie or a series, they would most probably want to pick AVI just to make sure they can watch it on their TV ;) Just a guess from me though...

I wasn't knocking AVI, just my own curiosity.  I love my ipod...  160gig hard drive on it!  I have a cable that lets me hook it up to any tv to play movies, music, photos, etc.  It's really handy on vacations and when I go to friends houses.  160gig is a lot of tv and movies.  lol
