[The Third Eye]

I wish to thank Serton for submitting all the episodes of Darker Than Black which just completed it's run. I also wish to thank the rippers and fansubs that made the series available to an english speaking audience.

Many would think that at 41 yrs old I am bit old to be such a fan of anime but my love of animation has been with me since I was a child. A good story never hurts and DTB had that in spades. It reminded me of the stories of Philip K. Dick in which he regularly ponders what it means to be human.

Darker than Black is one of those rare anime which has plenty of action sprinkled with enough drama to draw the audience in. I cared about every character in this series. Their trial and tribulations gave them a well rounded and realistic feel. I haven't been so drawn into an anime since the first season of Ghost in the Shell.

Once again thank you all. I pray that more stuff like this comes out of Japan in the near future.

Well the good news is that there's supposed to be an OVA taking place after these events to be released some time next year. Which will be good.

Darker than black is certainly a series that gripped me from start to finish, and I haven't found much like it recently. Heck it wasn't even till the last episode that (highlight for spoiler to episode 25)

Kirihara confronted Hei and called him by his assumed name of Lei

I'd say the only other anime that felt like this was Death Note. Which while different, had the same brooding tone and mild action, yes it is very much darker though the characters and their plights are very compelling.

Now I am going to have to check out Death Note. Currently, I can't get enough of Dennou Coil. I am aways amazed by what anime I will find interesting.
