Firstly do a forum search to see if your question has been asked before. More often than not if it's a really basic problem it will have been.

If nothing turns up and it's not a file problem, check the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).

If it is a file problem, i.e. no image or sound, check the codec help. Exhaust what's in there BEFORE posting a new thread.

There's no need for a hundred "there's no picture" with the reply "make sure you have the correct codec (usually xvid) installed". It's tedious and utterly pointless because the answer is already there.

If you really can't understand why something is broken then make a DETAILED post of your problem. Say which links! Copy and paste them so it can be checked more quickly. Just saying "Nip/Tuck 3x10 won't play/has no picture/sound" isn't that much help. Say what codecs, codec packs, media player, OS you have installed so it better clarifies your problem.

As a sidenote for people replying to help threads please don't say "try this codec pack" because codec packs can make things worse.

There're better ways, and if you post "try this codec pack" the post will be deleted without warning.
