what I find even REALLY annoying are movies you download using eMule or other p2p software and when you go to watch it, it comes up with a message that you have to download a special video player from a specific site to watch that particular movie. I am running into that more and more and find it very irritating as I have just wasted anywhere from a few hours to a few days downloading that movie. Anyone else running into this?
Movies needing special player

You should be using sites with a good reputation for your links and not randomly searching ed2k (and if you do search ed2k make sure you can at least find a corresponding .nfo to at least try to make sure it's legitimate). That way you can read comments and find out if a link is good or not.
I haven't ran in to anything like that in years quite simply because I use "recognised" websites such as ShareVirus, sharethefiles, mininova (after CAREFULLY reading the comments) or Demonoid.

If these are the files I'm thinking of (.wmv DLed at very high speed, often from MorphXT sources located in France), they're bad news
At best, they're protected by password (commercial site), and at worst...
2 advices :
-> Erase files &/or cancel DL
-> Start security scans
