"A Haunting" should not be clased as a documentary
Posted by carlos on 29 September 2010 - 06:09 PM
Paranormal, parapsycology, parascience...
It means that it LOOKS LIKE but is NOT normal, NOT psycological, NOT scientific...
EXAMPLE:
Theology can be very rigurous, structured and very philosofical and deep and what have you, but it is not a science.
I dont pretend that this logic should be applied as many out there still think Pamela Anderson's tits are real, along with Schwarzenagger's muscles and Area 51 aliens.
However, if it was up to me, I would create a "bulshit" category and put it in there with crazy conspiracy theories, OVNIS, Evangelical Teachings, Creationism, why we never landed on the moon and "How to Cure Cancer with Homeopathy" among others.
You may argue that they also belong in the genre "Documentary" or are closely related i.e. Mocumentaries (documentaries that intetionally take the piss :-))
Then again, I am tired of people and society not being able to differentiate between scientific knowledge and bullshit made up by someone.
All opinions are worth the same... My arse... A scientific opinion OWNs every time, like counting cards on a BlackJack table.
Just wished that everyone was a bit more wikipedian, more objective, more conscious of their search of truth.
And in this sense it pains me to see "A haunting" classed as a documentary.
Cherio to all and particularly the Admins for keeping it all up. I still remember the good old "therealworld" days... Ahhh. those Dutch canals look so far away from cold Siberia... :-)
